Dave + Amy Chung

We’re Dave + Amy Chung, a husband and wife real estate team dedicated to serving the North Shore suburbs of Chicago.

Our mission is to put our clients first and do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals. Not only do we work on the North Shore, but we live here too. Over the last 10+ years, we’ve lived in several areas within the North Shore and have personal experience with the neighborhoods here. Now as Wilmette residents and parents of two, we know this area inside and out and truly love our community. Our kids go to school here, we volunteer for community organizations, and our whole family enjoys a wide range of local activities from tennis and time outdoors to hosting dinner parties and spending time with our neighbors and friends.

We have a deep knowledge and understanding of our local market and are always in tune with trends and changes. Our clients never have to guess because we help them navigate through every step of the home-buying process. With backgrounds in filmmaking, digital marketing, hospitality, and construction, our unique mix of analytical and creative skills help us bring innovative strategies to buyers and sellers alike. We also have extensive experience with renovating historic houses as well as building new homes, so our clients never have to worry about the logistics of construction projects.

Our favorite part of real estate is the interpersonal aspect. We value interacting with our clients and getting to share in the experience with them. That’s what makes our job fulfilling and that’s why we love what we do.

Dave Chung

Dave graduated as valedictorian of his class at Full Sail University in Florida. After graduation, Dave landed in Los Angeles and was quickly hired by the Walt Disney Company and its feature animation division.

At Disney, Dave learned not only the technical parts of the job, but about the interpersonal aspects of corporate and creative environments. In 2007, Dave left the West Coast and moved to Chicago with Amy. There he spearheaded online video for Morningstar, an investment research firm.

After eight years with Morningstar, Dave decided to go out on his own. Alongside Amy, he became an enthusiastic investor, developer, and builder across Chicago’s north suburbs. During the process of renovating a 1920s Sears kit home in Wilmette, Dave also became a broker. For this first project, Dave created unique and trailblazing video content, which built momentum for the project and fully launched the couple into the real estate field.

No matter the situation, he serves as a community ambassador and trusted advisor for every buyer and seller he works with. For Dave, it’s all about forming genuine connections and breathing new life into the community.

We want to grow personally, in our craft and in our community. My favorite part of real estate is the interpersonal aspect, interacting with our clients and getting to share in the experience with them. That gives us a lot of energy and a lot of satisfaction.

Amy Chung

Originally from Eugene, Oregon and Southern California, Amy has embraced Chicagoland as her home for the past 13 years.

With a BA in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Amy began her career working in production management at the Walt Disney Company Feature Animation Studios. For over three years, Amy worked as a liaison between artists and administration, first as a production assistant then as a manager on popular motion pictures such as Wreck-It Ralph and Chicken Little. Upon relocating to Chicago, she left the production world for Culinary School and completed her training at Michelin-starred Everest Restaurant in Chicago. Desiring to dedicate more time to their family, Amy left the culinary world to join Dave in real estate.

Now, as a realtor, Amy brings an unexpected yet inspired skillset to the buying and selling process. Her chef’s perspective on workflow allows her to stage homes with meticulous attention to detail. Her eye for elegant form and straightforward function inspires calm, sophisticated, and highly livable interiors. From space planning to staging, Amy helps sellers organize, prepare, and present exactly what potential buyers are looking for.

Amy’s goal is to match people to communities where they feel safe and connected. For Amy, it’s all about making people feel welcome and at home.

When clients work with us, they realize that it’s not just the marketing, but also the customer service aspect. We really put our clients first and do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals. That’s been the focus from the beginning. We want each of our listings to feel like a model home. Many of our clients don’t want to move after we’re done getting their home ready for market!

Sarah Johnson

Sarah grew up in Wilmette, and joined Dave and Amy in 2020. She handles a wide range of responsibilities including paperwork, contractor visits, and open house/broker tours and showings. Sarah and Amy also work together on staging all listings.

Sarah graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and then lived in Manhattan for two years where she worked in college admissions and traveled the country recruiting. Working in college admissions was valuable experience to help prepare Sarah for her real estate career. In Sarah’s words:

“Working in college admissions was fascinating. It was my job to figure out the socio-economic breakdown of each city and decide which markets to recruit in. I fell in love with understanding how towns and cities are broken up and what makes each area different.”

Sarah transitioned to real estate because she could still leverage her understanding of neighborhoods while pursuing her dream of settling down and starting a family.

For Sarah, real estate is about helping people realize their dreams. She loves seeing someone look at a house and start to envision their future.

My favorite part of working with Dave and Amy is how much they care! They are the only realtors I know that make every detail of a listing immaculate. From photography to staging, I’ve never seen anyone put as much care in as Dave and Amy.
